ISOLATION CAN CAUSE GREAT DAMAGE!

(Don’t ever allow isolation from God make you become hostile to the things of God!)

What is Isolation? What is separation? What is to be set apart? Isolation is defined as being kept apart from others.

To be in isolation or to remain in isolation is to be set apart or to be detached from others physically or socially.

To isolate someone or something physically could also mean to dis-join.  Someone can equally isolate themselves from a group or from  a situation they were previously close together and this could be technically termed as being dissociated, or being in a state of segregation or being in insulation for any given terms and for given reasons.

Isolation has both negative and positive effects. One of the negative effects of physical isolation is that one can end up with a feeling of being disliked or being rejected.

On the other hand physical isolation can also bring some positive impact precisely when done for reasons bordering a larger productive course like the health matter of a nation or a given community.

When a situation arises and it involves the health matters of a certain group of individuals, all sick individuals who are declared to have contracted a contagious disease or are found to have some infectious terminal illness, for such individuals it is best for them to remain in isolation or better yet such contagious cases should involve

isolation as one means of managing the situation.

Isolation or Separation Is powerful! (Be careful with it!)

Romans 8: 35 poses rhetorically, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”

Romans 8: 37,38,39 farther assures us that, “ No, in all these we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

To give this wording our farther study, let us replace the word ‘separate’ with ‘isolate’ and give it one more reading’

Romans 8: 35,37,38,39 “Who shall isolate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”

No, in all these we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to isolate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The writer of Romans in the better verses of chapter 8 expects us to visualize out how in-demand isolation is to the elementary spiritual forces!

He also expects us to realize how brutal the outcome can get wherever isolation is inevitable!

Isolation is so powerful such that it literally attracts the attention of so many elemental spiritual forces of this world, and the way out is to not submit to its rules!

In as much as there is physical separation or isolation, mankind can equally undergo spiritual separation or spiritual isolation from God his Creator.

The sad truth of spiritual separation from God is that it brings spiritual death to the life of a believer.

“For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”

Spiritual separation from God comes as a result of lacking any value in restraining from all sensual indulgences such as self-imposed worship, false humility and all rules based on merely human commands and teachings.

Do not allow your mind to be hostile to God.

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death..”

So why would you want to be separated from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus?

Imagine, the Power of Death and the Power of Life can actually enter into contention just to bring isolation to reality!

Imagine, Angels and Demons can enter into contentions as to who is rightly allowed to bring isolation to happen! Height and Depth are equally interested to partake in bringing isolation wherever needed!

The whole creation of God is literally given the ability to cause isolation or separation to mankind whenever allowed!

 

Hence the obvious questions emerge,

• Will you give in to Isolation?
• Will you cave in when separation appears?
• Will you throw in your hard earned towel just to let separation and isolation have its way?

 

Back to defining how unfortunate man’s life can become once separation from the love of God is permitted, it is important to note that separation or isolation can also cause one to lose his citizenship and end up acquiring the perceptible state of becoming a foreigner in your own nation!

(.. remember that formerly you who are gentiles by birth and called ‘uncircumcised’ by those who call themselves ‘the circumcision’ … remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace…”

 

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…

we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.  From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

 

Isolation is therapeutic.

All in all isolation can be therapeutic depending on how one perceives it.

It is good and actually healthy for one to decide that once in a while they will detach themselves from all external voices of influence and seek to have some quiet serene moments.

 

Just as once in a while to detach physically from the everyday routine like switching off your mobile phone, staying away from that laptop and computer, switching off the Television, turning off the radio and basically staying away from the internet at large is the goodness of isolation and separation, the brutal danger of spiritual separation from God is irrevocable!

“ So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him,  rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
⁸ See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

Separate yourself from all distractions especially all physical electric gadgets and electronics and embark in self searching. There is always an evident impact to any human mind once this right kind of separation is done in as much as there is much productivity brought by the use of these gadgets. Woe to anyone whose life is solely wired and tied solely to the internet and electronic gadgets! All these gadgets are good and quit useful yet they are prone to damage and malfunctioning because they are operating under human systems!’

 

On the other hand as much as you seek for physical isolation and separation from all negativity and all nonproductive lifestyles, always seek to be spiritually attached with your Creator the Living God!

 

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs —heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

 

By default, all human beings are spiritually separated from God because of sinful nature. However, once one believes in the living Son of God as their Lord and Saviour, and they believe in Him, the power of separation is broken from them and Jesus being the only begotten Son of God gives every believer of Christ this divine opportunity of becoming a child of God, a son of God.

As many as received Him, to them He gave them power to become children of God! Jesus Christ has power over all powers of darkness and over all elementary spiritual forces that could ever separate us from Him as the Love of God. Those who do not love do not know God because God Love and Christ has seen God because He is in The Father and The Father in Him. The love of God is in Christ Jesus.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

No in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
