ISOLATION CAN CAUSE GREAT DAMAGE!

(Do not allow your mind to be hostile to God.)

Isolation is defined as being kept apart from others.

To be in isolation or to remain in isolation is to be set apart or to be detached from others physically or socially.

To isolate someone or something physically could also mean to dis-join.  Someone can equally isolate themselves from a group or from  a situation they were previously close together and this could be technically termed as being dissociated, or being in a state of segregation or being in insulation for any given terms and for given reasons.

Isolation has both negative and positive effects. One of the negative effects of physical isolation is that one can end up with a feeling of being disliked or being rejected. 

On the other hand physical isolation can also bring some positive impact precisely when done for reasons bordering a larger productive course like the health matter of a nation or a given community.

When a situation arises and it involves the health matters of a certain group of individuals, all sick individuals who are declared to have contracted a contagious disease or are found to have some infectious terminal illness, for such individuals it is best for them to remain in isolation or better yet such contagious cases should involve 

isolation as one means of managing the situation.

Isolation or Separation Is powerful! (Be careful with it!)

Romans 8: 35 poses rhetorically, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”

Romans 8: 37,38,39 farther assures us that, “ No, in all these we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

To give this wording our farther study, let us replace the word ‘separate’ with ‘isolate’ and give it one more reading’

Romans 8: 35,37,38,39 “Who shall isolate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?”

No, in all these we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to isolate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The writer of Romans in the better verses of chapter 8 expects us to visualize out how in-demand isolation is to the elementary spiritual forces!

He also expects us to realize how brutal the outcome can get wherever isolation is inevitable!

Isolation is so powerful such that it literally attracts the attention of so many elemental spiritual forces of this world, and the way out is to not submit to its rules!

In as much as there is physical separation or isolation, mankind can equally undergo spiritual separation or spiritual isolation from God his Creator.

The sad truth of spiritual separation from God is that it brings spiritual death to the life of a believer.

“For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”

Spiritual separation from God comes as a result of lacking any value in restraining from all sensual indulgences such as self-imposed worship, false humility and all rules based on merely human commands and teachings.

Do not allow your mind to be hostile to God.

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death..”

So why would you want to be separated from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus?

Imagine, the Power of Death and the Power of Life can actually enter into contention just to bring isolation to reality!

Imagine, Angels and Demons can enter into contentions as to who is rightly allowed to bring isolation to happen! Height and Depth are equally interested to partake in bringing isolation wherever needed!

The whole creation of God is literally given the ability to cause isolation or separation to mankind whenever allowed!

Hence the obvious questions emerge,

• Will you give in to Isolation? 
• Will you cave in when separation appears?
• Will you throw in your hard earned towel just to let separation and isolation have its way?

Back to defining how unfortunate man’s life can become once separation from the love of God is permitted, it is important to note that separation or isolation can also cause one to lose his citizenship and end up acquiring the perceptible state of becoming a foreigner in your own nation!

(.. remember that formerly you who are gentiles by birth and called ‘uncircumcised’ by those who call themselves ‘the circumcision’ … remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace…”

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…

we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.  From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

Isolation is therapeutic.

All in all isolation can be therapeutic depending on how one perceives it. 

It is good and actually healthy for one to decide that once in a while they will detach themselves from all external voices of influence and seek to have some quiet serene moments. 

Just as once in a while to detach physically from the everyday routine like switching off your mobile phone, staying away from that laptop and computer, switching off the Television, turning off the radio and basically staying away from the internet at large is the goodness of isolation and separation, the brutal danger of spiritual separation from God is irrevocable!

“ So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him,  rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

Separate yourself from all distractions especially all physical electric gadgets and electronics and embark in self searching. There is always an evident impact to any human mind once this right kind of separation is done in as much as there is much productivity brought by the use of these gadgets. Woe to anyone whose life is solely wired and tied solely to the internet and electronic gadgets! All these gadgets are good and quit useful yet they are prone to damage and malfunctioning because they are operating under human systems!’

On the other hand as much as you seek for physical isolation and separation from all negativity and all nonproductive lifestyles, always seek to be spiritually attached with your Creator the Living God!

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs —heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

By default, all human beings are spiritually separated from God because of sinful nature. However, once one believes in the living Son of God as their Lord and Saviour, and they believe in Him, the power of separation is broken from them and Jesus being the only begotten Son of God gives every believer of Christ this divine opportunity of becoming a child of God, a son of God.

As many as received Him, to them He gave them power to become children of God! Jesus Christ has power over all powers of darkness and over all elementary spiritual forces that could ever separate us from Him as the Love of God. Those who do not love do not know God because God Love and Christ has seen God because He is in The Father and The Father in Him. The love of God is in Christ Jesus.

WISE WORD OF LOVE!!
It is good to know that there’s a difference between being in a marriage and being in love.
✔️Don’t ever confuse being married to being loved and vice versa.
✔️One can never replace the other.
✔️It is catastrophic to confuse the two.
✔️They can always co-exist because one is an outcome of the other one.
He who knows doesn’t speak because he who speaks doesn’t understand the business of Marriage!

Until you reach that point in life where you get to admit that you success in life has nothing to do with human  influence, rather it is the hand of God, then you have never tasted the sweet cup of forgiveness!

To be able to forgive others is a gift from God. Just like to Love, to Forgive is divine and it comes from the Father above in Whom there is no variation of turning.

In a spun of just six weeks, I’ve been forced to forgive and reconcile with three people whom I never thought we’d ever see eye to eye let alone greet each other. Yes,this is the harsh reality of divine healing I was made to undergo, the latest reconciliation happening early this morning and the experience was so shameful to me realizing that I was holding grudges with someone I fellowship with under same ministry without knowing it! The reconciliation happened so fast that I had no time to play the innocent victim in demand of a written official apology!

Up to this moment I still don’t know how it happen but one thing I’m so sure of is when I decide to put into practice the much treasured word of advice I received from a very dear  person of mine, “Christine, don’t hold grudges!” And that was it!

I’m still failing to comprehend which side of their bed this particular person woke up from, prepare themselves, then decide to pay me a random visit, come, knock at my door, greet me and smile at me in a friendly and reconcilable way that left me feeling embarrassed at the whole scenario of holding a grudge with them. I mean the whole thing was so inviting that it lead us to indulge in an even friendlier business talk! This left me so speechless such that while I was listening to her, my mind was reminded of what I was agonizing in prayer for my business in my wee hour of prayer in the morning and that’s when it dawned in me that when we pray according to His will He hears us, and if God hears us then we have the petition that we ask of Him!

This was no human hand. This was the doing of The Lord, it is marvelous in His sight. It is one more divine incident to convince me of the Sovereignty of God and I am still counting for more..

“David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years…THE LORD HAD GIVEN HIM REST FROM ALL HIS ENEMIES..And he became more and more powerful, because the LORD God Almighty was with him.
Now Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs and carpenters and stonemasons, and they built a palace for David. Then David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.

Only one who lacks understanding will fail to realize that in his established tenure of ruler-ship, David like any other of God’s anointed rulers, he actually had serious enemies!

David both in his childhood and as a king had so many enemies after his life that even while he offered his praises to God, we read how often he mentions of how God delivers him from the hands of his enemies. We are encouraged not be in bad habit of holding grudges!

David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul…“The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—
from violent people You save me.

“I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and have been saved from my enemies….

He LORD,at the blast of breath from His nostrils.
“He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
He drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me…

“The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands He has rewarded me.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD;

David as a king was made to experience God’s forgiveness at hand which greatly enabled him to extend forgiveness to most of his enemies! (Remember David’s incident with Nabal and how Abigail, Nabal wife intervened leaving David with no option but to forgive Nabal.)

Forgiveness is something you have to give out, hence the two words ‘for’ and ‘give’ to literally form forgiveness. Just like a wise investor who would carefully invest most of his money in a business firm bearing in mind that there is expected return of not just profit but good profit, forgiveness is something you give out with a heart filled with expected yielded reaps!

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

When you forgive your offenders, you are actually prompting God to do the same for you. It is just like you are playing the game of chess with God being your playmate. First you make your winning move, to protect your queen (that is guarding your heart with all diligence) and then when it’s God’s turn to make His move on that chess board (as in when it is God’s turn to show out on your behalf here on Earth) you sit back (that is remain in place of prayer) and watch the great hand of God swing into action on your behalf!

Though you might be in a chess game with God, and like any other good earthly father, Our Heavenly Father would always want you to win your game every round!

Remember all  things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

“If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Prior to this statement in John chapter 20, Jesus breathed on His disciples and gave them the Holy Spirit.“Receive the Holy Spirit.”

Therefore it is good to realize that the Holy Spirit was given to help us forgive others.

Refusing to forgive is like holding another person’s debt!

Do not hold grudges!

Do not keep other people’s debts of forgiveness!

Pay your debtors and God will forgive your debt of sin!

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

10 SITUATIONS THAT WILL NEED YOU TO REMAIN CALM DESPITE THE OFFENSE.

Have you ever been offended so badly to the point where hitting back either physically or responding verbally seems to be the only logic thing to do at that moment? Well, instead of getting all worked up and getting upset over any offense, first have a close at these points below;

 

1. Do not get all worked up when you are offended by a kid. This one goes without saying! A child’s brain is still developing compared to an adult’s brain and most the wrongs that kids do is because they lack the required knowledge and in all cases they will tend to do offensive things or say offensive words just by default of their still developing brain. So consider excising active patience with that child who keeps offending you and correct them with a loving heart where possible.
2. Do not get all worked up when you are offended by an elderly person or any old man or old woman. These group of people have seen generations come and go and there is a good reason why that old man or old lady is still around. If an elderly person offends you accidentally or not, learn to quietly swallow the offense and take the initiative to actually own the blame. Act responsibly around old people just to be on your safe side!
3. Do not get all worked up when you are offended by a pregnant woman. If and when  a pregnant lady offends you, the best to do is let the offense pass and move on. Pregnant women are actually carrying life in  them and life is a precious gift from God to every human. Besides, that is why you and I are alive and here today reading this beautiful wisdom! Do not be caught messing with life or with anyone carrying life in them just because of a small insignificant offense.
4. Do not get all worked up when you are offended by either an invalid patient, a convalescent patient, a bedridden patient or even any terminally ill person. Don’t get worked up at all at all by sick people! Leave the sick people to heal peacefully. You do not know the degree of pain they are going through to make them sound or be offensive to you!
5. Do not get all worked up when you as the offended one, you are outwardly superior to the offender in any  given way. Don’t fall into that trap!
6. Do not get worked up when you are heavily pregnant or your pregnancy is still on delicate stages esp.during your first semester. Don’t! Just don’t! As a pregnant woman learn to let a by-gone offense be a be-gone offense!
7. Do not get worked up by any insignificant offense if you have any medical history of suffering from a sensitive medical condition like ulcers, hypertension, asthma, etc. Some offense are just demonic and a simple attention from you could easily accelerate your medical condition for the worse! Save your breathe and avoid getting offended so easily by every single offense thrown your way. Some offenses are to be overlooked just like that!
8. Do not get worked up when you know you are fasting for religious reasons and you have embarked on a spiritual journey in order to have prolonged quiet times with God. For all spiritual reasons, it is not wise to e angry or give in to any offense when you are fasting and praying.
9. Do not get worked up at all when you know you  have a calling  from God and your church has entrusted you with any religious duty or church ministry. Getting easily offended by every issue thrown your way will not only “contaminate your prayers” but giving in to every offense will actually limit how much God is planning to use you and it will equally limit how far God is planning to take you. God is holy!
10. Do not get worked up or even give in to the urge of getting angry when your offender keeps repeating the same mistake over and over again despite you having pointed out to them in previous incidents. If your offender keeps offending you repeatedly over and over with the same mistake, chances are that this particular individual  has or is suffering from some mental condition and might be in dire need of urgent medical attention. Just let go of repeated offenses especially if the offender is the same person.

 

NOTE: In all the offenses thrown your way, try to analyze using the above criteria and you’ll eventually realize that of all those offenses you are encountering, just few of them call for you to respond with anger. So, as much as it is within your power, avoid being easily offended by just anybody and always avoid getting  upset and angry over little offenses.

 

Anger is a very expensive journey, one that it is not worth of anyone’s time or any embarking on!
