HE REVEALS HIMSELF, HE REVEALS HIS WILL AND HE REVEALS HIS THOUGHTS IN OUR DEEPEST NEED OF HIM! AND THAT, …..CHILD OF GOD, …..IS GOD’S DIVINE DESIRE!
There’s this narrative of a certain young man who journeyed to a far country in search of a one well known traditional herbalist! The herbalist was said to possess some sort of “strange powers” that cured every illness and was rumoured to offer abundant life filled with luck and charm! Unknown to many, the herbalist secretly brainwashed the entire region with witchcraft just to gain their trust! As wicked as he was, the herbalist was esteemed as a type of deity by so many people including the young man. All his agemates and friends who visited the herbalist had their lives changed for the better, so it was not a surprise when this young man decided to visit the herbalist. The journey was long and it took him so many days. One was required to drive miles of roads, climb steep mountains and cross rivers to arrive there yet the young man was willing because he had a motive! To become rich enough to fit in the league of his friends! So, eventually he was happy to finally arrive at the said herbalist’s village because to him, his problems were about to end! He proceeded to the herbalist house, his turn came and he entered the house backwards as was the norm carefully following all the instructions laid out before seeing the herbalist. The young man was so excited for the honour of sitting facing the so “god.” This chill of reality gave the young man all the nerve he needed to vent out all his misery to the herbalist hoping for clear cut solution! The herbalist then explained to the young man the main cause for his misfortunes was his OWN BIRTHYEAR but swiftly promised the young man once he fulfilled certain ritual sacrifices, all would be answered! This reasoned well with the man. He offered all expectations to satisfaction! The final leg came and the herbalist ground some powder “concoction” meant to be part of the man’s “ABUNDANT LIFE REMEDY.” He took the powder mixture, poured it on a white piece of paper, and ordered the young man to fold up the paper with the powder inside explaining that the number of folds the young man would be able to make would signify the number of cars, houses, enterprises, children, wealth and even countries this young man would possess! Of course the young man received this with great anticipation and made sure he folded the paper to smallest size he could because the mentioned results motivated him! He was then directed to place the folded paper in an empty pot in front of him and after a few strange incantations by the herbalist, the young man was ordered to remove the folded paper, then open it up and read the equation or writings which would be in the paper. He was careful to follow up with the witchdoctor’s instructions and he started opening the folded paper. Suddenly, the herbalist screamed at the young man to quickly fold up the paper again because the concoction which was in the paper had started to work but this was not what the herbalist had expected. It was too late! THE PAPER HAD OPENED ON IT’S OWN! The white powder mixture inside the paper had disappeared and was replaced with Some Writings! Again of course the herbalist ordered the young man to put back the paper into the pot because the herbalist thought that the young man was disobeying the him! It was end of road for the herbalist! On the other hand, the young man’s mouth opened up and He read what was written on the white piece of paper! This is what was written, “Seek The LORD while He may be found. Call upon Him while He Is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to The LORD and He will have mercy on him. And to our God. For He will abundantly pardon.” Obviously this was not the expected outcome for both the herbalist and the young man. The herbalist received different instructions at the back of the paper commanding him to surrender and confess immediately! To this day the young man confesses that after obediently studying The “Writings” and mended ways with Maker. He even developed a closer walk with The Holy Spirit. To this young man, believing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior has changed his life for the better more than his peers, because now he lives in ABUNDANCE and his eternity is assured. The “Writings” seemed to have given him a clear REVELATION for his life and he even remembers saying out loud, ” I RECEIVE LORD!” He remembers saying these out loud, and later that day the young man knew The Truth about his life and from that day he was liberated from all bondages! 💃..OF FAITH! #Readingbibleinayear JOIN;Today 1 SAMUEL CHAPTERS 4 &5 &6
In 1Kings 17:9 the bible shows, God commanded the widow of Zarephath to provide for Elijah, an implication that there was some “communication” that took place between God and the widow of Zarephath.
We are not told what she prayed about but for God to command her to provide for Elijah is clear indication she had been talking to God previously! Maybe if we deduce with today’s time;
1. Maybe she was telling God about how she was facing difficulty raising her son as a single parent(owing to the fact she was a widow).
2. Maybe she was telling God about the drought that was going on in Sidon, and she had no source of income to cater for basic needs(owing to the fact she was gathering sticks for firewood, another indication she had ran out of basic house items like fuel).
3. Maybe she was telling God about her loneliness.
4. Maybe she was telling God about her bakery business that had seemingly collapsed (owing to the fact that God trusted her to cook for His prophet and owing to the fact that she kept oil in jars, and flour in bins, clear indication she used to cook cakes or bread or confectionery for selling. If she only lived with her son, storing flour in big containers and oil in big containers was not necessary.
4. Maybe she was telling God about her tenants who seemingly seemed not to be paying their rents to her since there was drought and there seemed to be no means of the tenants to find food leave alone rent. (If she had a spare room upstairs fully furnished with spare bed ready for Elijah, the widow was somehow into a business in the city that involved property. Also after the miracle of oil and flour having taken place, the bible says she and Elijah and her household had enough to eat for many days.
4. Maybe she was telling God about her relatives who apparently had rejected or abandoned her after her husband’s death.
5. Maybe she was telling God about her sickness, since we are not told what actually killed her husband, but at the time of Elijah’s arrival, the widow was hopeless to the point of death(maybe she was expecting the same sickness that killed her husband tragically to eventually kill her and her son as well). 6. Maybe she was under God’s judgment, for not obeying God’s counsel in her marriage.
7. Maybe her husband cheated on her with another woman, remember she lived in Zarephath and Zarephath is in Sidon, a city that King Ahab had influenced into sinning against God. So, when this woman found out about her husband’s affair she unwittingly decided to avenge it by her getting even with her husband by sleeping with another man. Unfortunately maybe her husband caught her in the real act (getting caught in the real act was usual in those days, they was little discreet).
However, maybe the two men engaged in a physical fight over the issue only for it to end tragically killing her matrimonial husband! And now she was left with a child born from an affair which may have made her to seek God’s mercies.
Beloved, whatever the reason this widow had to talk to God about we may not fully know, but we read she received a prophet of God sent by God meaning God answered her prayer!!!
You and I can do the same today and ATTRACT THE ATTENTION OF HEAVEN by faith!! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
We communicate with God through prayer, through reading His Word etc..

Then it happened, the third day after I had given birth, that this woman also gave birth.
And we were together; no one was with us in the house except the two of us in the house.
And this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him. So she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
And when I rose in the morning to nurse my son, there he was, dead. But when I had examined him in the morning, indeed, he was not my son whom I had borne “
LESSON LEARNED:
1. Know who your friends are and be aware of The company you keep..bad company corrupts good morals(though both women were harlots, one woman was jealous of the other..)
2. The “sleeping woman” is a sign of CARELESSNESS and PRAYERLESSNESS .. that’s why the “life-for-death” exchange took place and she wasn’t aware because of (sleeping)or prayerless life!
3. The king requested for a sword.( symbol of the Word of God.) The entrance of God’s Word brings light!
4. God expects us to pray! The mother of the living child was willing to give away her son.. ( her son a symbol of her own life..) She was willing to surrender her life (her son) knowing this would spare her son’s life. God expects us to ask for His WILL to be done in our life’s..
LIFE APPLICATION. (Questions)
1. Are you praying? 2. Are you reading, are you believing and are you living according to God’s Word?
2SAMUEL24:verses 1-2 , 10 Again the anger of The LORD was aroused against Israel, and He moved David against them to say , “Go, number Israel and Judah.” .. And David’s heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to The LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now I pray O LORD, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done foolishly.”
Study notes: By this time we see David has grown old and his strength is “faint” (refer to 2Samuel 21:15) Yet somehow David together with his men managed to kill the remaining giants of Philistine. This guaranteed victory made the people of Israel to start believing it was there strength that was giving them victory forgetting God was with them all along to honor His covenant(refer to 2Samuel 21:17) This aroused God’s Anger against Israel and as seen in 2Samuel 24:1..
LESSON LEARNED:
-Never allow pride at any moment in your lifetime to take residence of your heart..”GOD RESISTS THE PRIDE BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE” -CONFESSION BRINGS REDEMPTION
PRAYER: “For who is God except The LORD? And who is a rock except our God? God Is my strength and my power, and He makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places. He teaches my hands to make war so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze..“

WHAT A WISE DECISION HE MADE! THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM!
