It was beginning to pour heavily and crowds were already dispersing. Everyone was rushing to find any near shelter that was available to hide from the heavy rainfall!
Everyone except the bride and the groom! All the guests were in such a hurry to shelter from the rain or so it seemed. No one was remembering that despite the rains there was a wedding ceremony that was taking place!
The reaction of his guests however did not catch the newly weds by surprise. The estrangement that people were beginning to pour towards Levis was undeniably obvious. Just the other day he was a widower and it is the very same people who came to offer him their sincere condolences that mostly were in attendance at the wedding on that day and their reasons for coming were so obvious. Few were actually here to celebrate with Levis his sudden life commitment!
Majority of the people who were in attendance at the wedding had come to confirm the fast spreading rumours about his wife’s death. Apparently, it was flying around that his late wife’s death was not an accident as reported. Something crucial seemed to be missing to solve the puzzling death of Mackey.
Was it actually an accident as reported by Levis and his family or Mackey was indeed murdered? To begin with, Levis and Mackey were one happily married couple which could be best described as a match made in heaven..
“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven…But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.” Lessons derived from Matthew 6:1-4 are quite many and diverse and one of those lessons is persistence in #faithfulness . Persistence by itself is not bad especially when used for the right reasons and right intention. In the Old Testament we read more of the kings who were persistent in wrong reasons and had wrong intention which ultimately led the nation of Israel to sin before their God. These kings were persistent in the sins of their fathers who had reigned before them. On the other hand when persistence is out for all the right reasons, breakthroughs are inevitable.
Reading Matthew 6:1-4, Jesus simply points out that we ought to remember the prior factor that God CREATED human beings with two hands for a reason. (Highly likely is that God’s desired will for every human being is to operate with both hands.)
…when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing…meaning
Your left hand is supposed to be busy doing something constructive while on the other hand
Your right hand is supposed to be busy doing something constructive as well.

Be persistent in faithfulness and persistent in your ACTS OF MERCY.
If both of your hands are busy doing something constructive, neither of your hands will have time to find out what the other hand is doing because both hands are working simultaneously towards accomplishment of the desired goals of the owner of these two hands.
The other thing to factor in is that JESUS is clear to point out that these charitable deeds are (meant) to be done before men…plural of man! When you set to fulfill the humble call of MERCIFUL ACTS to help out men (people) , you’ll realize that the calling is so overwhelming that you simply can’t afford to sit down and brag about your act or start blowing up your trumpet on how many friends you’ve helped #today how many strangers you’ll feed #tomorrow !
When you set out to do something to #help others especially when you’re not expecting them to pay back, or they are not in position to repay you, then once the first project on your left side is done, turn to your right side and find out who else needs your help and do the same.
God CREATED you with two hands (literally speaking ,) that when you are busy working with your one hand, you use the other (extra hand ) to reach out to your neighbor who is in #genuine need of help, or reach out to the needy in the #society and less fortunate with your other hand!
Meanwhile back to our narrative, people were yet to come to terms with the rude reality that Mackey was no more. Exactly a week after her burial here was her husband remarrying..! What really happened to poor Mackey is a whole chapter filled with encouragement and hope for the broken heartened, and a chapter that is to continue shortly…(stay blessed!)

#yesterday evening I was upset little..I overheard someone talking so negatively about me. I tried to ignore it but the person kept talking and telling those he was with more and more and making fun of me…I was somewhere else but was in a position to hear..I guess he was intentional. The careless type of jokes,, you know. So I chose to move a bit far away from them..rather than go and confront him..besides it was late in the evening, and who’d want to end their day with an argument.
Then, Later in the evening when I was about to sleep , I decided to pray about the issue and I remember binding, rebuking the spirit of intimidation, etc.you know…in my mind I knew this was devil working through him trying to intimidate me..
But surprisingly this morning I woke up with the intention of binding the same spirit because I knew that I was going to bump with the same person again today, but I found myself THANKING GOD for everything…and even *him😒*
And beloved friend..what do I say…this prayer #God answered instantly.
Minutes after finishing the prayer…the very same #person came looking for me and and before I could tell he joined me in my #breakfast
We talked a lot.. .of course he did most of the talking and while in that moment..The #Holy Spirit made me realized that GOD IS ALL …ABOUT LOVE.

At such a time next week we are going to be comfortably seated in the month of September!
God has been faithful enough in my life for me to pray His promise of love to remain in you and never fail never drop so that you live to see God’s continued love even through the coming month of September!
I have seen God’s countless mercies this far and I extensively pray same and more grace for you as well as yours!
Every sickness has been far from me this far and I want the same for your life that you will never have to eat medicine as food to survive.
God be faithful to you to keep you remove every disease and sickness from your waters and food!
Your horn of praise for the month of September is ready and oiled waiting!

The fifth reason that requires us to come before God with thanksgiving and with a grateful heart is that thanksgiving is healing!
Thanksgiving is a code meant for your inner man!
It is only your inner man who understands why you are actively thanking God despite the situation that you have just lost your source of income and have no idea on how your household will survive next.
It is only your inner man who understands why you sing thank you hymns to God even after receiving the devastating report from your doctor about your health conditions!
It is only your inner man who understands why you are actively thanking God for your ministry despite the situation that you have been struggling to pastor the same congregation of forty five members for the last decade! It is only your inner man who understands why!
Thanksgiving brings HEALING. Thanksgiving brings salvation. Thanksgiving makes room for more. provisions where there is lack. Thanksgiving brings deliverance to them that are bound. Thanksgiving brings joy where there is sorrow. Thanksgiving brings restoration. Thanksgiving brings revival. Thanksgiving strengthens.
When you feed your inner man with the code of thanksgiving, the carnal mortal body is weakened. It is only your inner man who understands how to offer thanksgiving unto God because God Is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Remember when Jesus fed the multitude! Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?”….So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left.”
In the above incident, thanksgiving brought provisions for more fish and bread enough for the multitude, because thanksgiving brings healing!)
Again we read Jesus teaching us to give thanks to God when He was instituting the Holy Communion…When the hour had come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him…Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
Lessons.
Jesus was teaching us to use the code of thanksgiving to feed our inner man. Remember, Jesus is just hours aware to His crucifixion. The INNER MAN Who IS also the SPIRIT OF GOD needed to be fed. The only code that our inner man understands in order to conquer the carnal mortal body HARDSHIPS is thanksgiving. See, in HARDSHIPS, the carnal mortal body will always yield to complaining, murmuring, ungratefulness, etc..because the carnal mortal body sees the HARDSHIPS literally with carnal mortal eyes and will always echo, “aah things are not going well..” But when your inner man gets to hear your CODE for thanksgiving, he moves into action for your good!
So, another reason to come before God with thanksgiving and a grateful heart is that thanksgiving Brings you Healing in wholeness!
The fourth reason that requires us to come before God with thanksgiving and with a grateful heart is that thanksgiving is a specific offering required of any child of God. Every Christian believer is required by God that whenever you worship God you offer Him your thanksgiving with a grateful heart.
There are many incidents where we learn how thanksgiving is required by God. To mention some remember when Nehemiah arranged for…the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings and singing, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps.
Thanksgiving as a requirement for every child of God enables the worshipper to acknowledge God as The Sovereign One worthy of worship. Thanksgiving goes beyond saying thank you Jesus for every true Christian believer even to the point of giving gifts to God in reverence. When king Solomon had finished building the temple, just before dedicating it he knew that it was YET required of him by God to worship with sacrifice or offerings…Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
Thanksgiving is worship and worship is required of every one who worships God to worship God in spirit and truth.
Jesus taught us about giving our thanksgiving sacrifice to God when He offered His body for our sins at the cross. Jesus gave the ultimate thanksgiving offering that could ever satisfy God with His body. That’s why we read when Jesus was instituting the Holy communion.. Then He took the cup, and gave thanks…And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
When Jesus was instituting the Holy communion, He gave thanks to God for His blood that was to be shed at the cross and Jesus similarly gave thanks to God for His Own which was to be bruised for our iniquity and was later to be HANGED at the cross.
Jesus was teaching us to acknowledge God’s Sovereignty with thanksgiving.
Thanks be to God now we no longer have to physically die in order to physically offer our mortal body as a sacrifice like Jesus did. Romans 12 Paul urges, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
All in all one reason why we should always remember to come before God with thanksgiving is that thanksgiving is a required form of offering of every child of God while we are worshipping our Heavenly Father.
The third reason that requires us to come before God with thanksgiving and with a grateful heart is that thanksgiving directs us to where God Is. Thanksgiving is a pointer to the position of God. In other words, thanksgiving shows us the sure clear way to reach God because thanksgiving is a command from God Himself.
Thanksgiving is God’s Living Word and it is God’s command to us. It is living in that thanksgiving will actively show you where God Is and thanksgiving will lead you to where you will find God!
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, ‘giving thanks’ to God the Father through Him.
In Daniel 6 we read more of the evil plots from the satraps and the governors which forced king Darius to sign a decree or command that was to lead Daniel to the den of lions. Daniel knew that in order for him to come to God with what he was facing, Daniel had to obey the command of The Lion of Judah, The Living Word of God and offer thanksgiving.
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and (actively) gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
Daniel knew exactly what he was doing when he let the windows of his upper room open facing Jerusalem!
By letting his windows of the upper room face Jerusalem while open, Daniel was entering God’s place of position spiritually probably actively thanking God for His promised Word, Who Is The coming Messiah. And by obeying the ‘Direction’ or leading of The Word of God to enter God’s Presence with active thanksgiving, Daniel was able to see less of the physical den of lions that was awaiting him!
Daniel had entered into God’s will and he was able to see the faithfulness and salvation of God enter before him even in the den of lions. This all happened positively or for the good of Daniel because Daniel followed the active direction of The Word in order to reach God The Father!
Beloved child of God today purpose to pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Jesus said… “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Thanksgiving is a living active command from God. Hence the third reason to come before God with thanksgiving and a grateful heart is that thanksgiving is a living command from God. Thanksgiving is The Living Word of God.
Enter into God’s gates with thanksgiving…Enter into God’s grace at God’s command who is the living Word of God. The Word of God is The Son of God Jesus Christ. Thank You Jesus!
Another reason to stand before God’s Holy PRESENCE with thanksgiving in heart is the “massive amounts of peace moments in your life” that God gives you which is beyond human understanding!
Have you ever sat down and calculated how much people pay out there just to have a peace of mind!
Vacations are good and both exiting and healthy, but have you considered the revelation that people still pay expensively to go for vacations in order to get some sort of #peace in their lives!
Having peace in your life is not a certificate of living a lazy lifestyle and refusing to pursue life dreams and achieving your ordained calling or passions.
Having peace in your life is not a license to glorify your “comfort zone” whether it’s luxurious one or gravely humble lifestyle.
Having peace in your life is having Love of God in your life!
Assurance of having the love of God in your life is believing in God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ!
Jesus said, “…Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you..”
🔥Jesus left us with Life! 🔥He gave us His Holy life! 🔥Jesus gave us ability to live a Holy living through The Holy Spirit!
Peace is Actually LIFE not merely an emotional feeling!!!
Peace which is also life is a sound reason to come before God with thanksgiving and a grateful heart.
There are people who are said to be able to focus more when they have peace.
We read of how Hannah despite being married to her loving and seemingly perfect husband Elkanah who enjoyed the treasures and pleasure of showering her with plenty even during worship offerings, she was unable to focus on the love that her husband showed her all because Hannah had no children of her own! Though having peace in life is not necessarily a reflection of absence of war … understanding the immense power of peace and importance of having true peace and understanding the real Source of peace in life is important. When you discover how big “Peace” Is, you will always love to come before God with thanksgiving and a grateful heart.
Waking up with a sound mind is no rested assurance in our present life. This is solely because God Is Our only Assurance!
“..peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
True Peace is consistent.
Thank God you are At peace with Him.
Thank God you have peace With Him.
Thank God you have peace From Him.
Thank God that you have peace In Him.
Thank God that you find peace From Him.
Thank God for Who He Is. He Is The Prince of peace!
My prayer as you decide to return to God with thanksgiving is let Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord!
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you Is faithful, Who also will do it. Mercy, Peace and Love be multiplied to you.
Peace freely given to us by God Himself is a sure reason to come before God with humble thanksgiving and grateful hearts..and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Remember…Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Peace in life Is a good reason to come before God with thanksgiving and a grateful heart because Peace is Life!
REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD COME TO GOD WITH THANKSGIVING IN PRAYER!
Many people are used to coming before God with their needs, crying tears to God The Father seeking God to change their situation.
However, if the same energy is applied with a different approach to prayer, tremendous spiritual growth is a guarantee!
Instead of murmuring and complaining about your life to God in prayer, decide to return to God with thanksgiving and a grateful heart of praise!
Here’s 5 reasons why you should go to God in prayer with thanksgiving!
Regardless of what you are presently facing or what you are presently faced with, decide to “see” God in His Awesome Majesty instead of seeing the magnitude of your situation. Why, you may wonder! Because, maybe, just maybe God Is planning to use that particular situation that you are presently facing to turn it around to work for your own good! The more you focus on Him, the more He focus on you! Remember, His Ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts.
